I think I am the only one who thinks Bettie Page is unattractive and useless…
I agree, I think you are the only one besides maybe Bettie herself, she never understood the admiration and infatuation either.
During a time when it was frowned upon for women to be sexually free in any way, here was Bettie Page doing what she wanted the way she wanted to, even if that did mean posing nude, tied up or with a whip in her hand, Bettie didn’t stop living her life because of the repressed times she lived in and never had any regrets about it. She represents sexual liberation for all women and helped bring in the sexual revolution of the 1960’s without ever meaning to. As far as she was concerned she was just posing for some pictures for fun. Bettie was incredibly ahead of her time. Not so “useless” I’d say.

This goes to show how special Bettie truly was, to not have known her name for all those years, but you always remembered her face. There were hundreds of girls in those girlie magazines back then and it was Bettie that stood out. I love this!
